Wayfinding
National Library
of New Zealand
Te Puna Mātauranga
o Aotearoa
The National Library of New Zealand Te Puna Mātauranga o Aotearoa building on Molesworth Street, Wellington has seen various changes since its opening in 1987. A refresh and update of the wayfinding system was necessary to improve patrons’ ability to navigate the building and remove any out-of-date information. Updating the wayfinding was an opportunity to add further information, such as the current tenancy of the building, the location of the bathrooms with gender clarity and to refresh the main entrance.
The Royal Society
of New Zealand
The Royal Society of New Zealand moved into its new building in 2012. To aid navigation within the building Fortyfive Design created a wayfinding system that reflected the industrial nature of the building while staying true to the Royal Society brand. Using variations in scale and contrasting materials we achieved a design that complimented the simple bold spaces.
Amesbury School
Fortyfive Design produced a range of environmental and wayfinding graphics for the Amesbury School. The primary wayfinding project included four tiers of multi lingual navigation throughout of the school. Various environmental graphics were developed for many of the learning and public spaces.
